Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest I grew up running through the forests, tending to farm animals and helping my mother in the garden. I was very competitive and loved sports, playing with the other neighbor kids and basically any outdoor activity. We learned entrepreneurship at a young age; picking mushrooms to eat (and sell), picking red wigglers from the compost pile and earth worms from the yard late at night to sell to the passing fisherman heading to Lost Lake, and selling firewood bundles to the passing campers. Turkeys grazed our yard throughout the year and during the winter season we would sell them. The summer months we had what seemed like a never-ending garage sale. We were raised on fresh fish and meat from the farm and/or deer and elk that my father hunted. Growing up in a valley of fruit fields and orchards I developed love for fruit at a young age. I moved to Maui at 19 and lived there for the next 20 years developing a new love for tropical fruits. This is where my passion for making jam was brought to life. I grew up making freezer jam with my mother, but it wasn't until I got older that I developed the actual skills and love. I first started to sell my Jams and Jellies in 2005 at fruit stands along the Hana Highway, Farmers Markets and other Festivals. In 2016 I met my husband, and he became my biggest supporter driving me to and from events, loading and unloading the truck and sitting with me at those same events. Eventually we decided to rename the business as Das My Jam, and it's been an absolute pleasure serving the Islands and the Pacific Northwest.
We take pride in hand making small batches of Jams, Jellies and Syrups. Our tropical fruits are sourced from Hawai'i and other tropical locations. We will always strive to support our own community first by sourcing ingredients from locally grown and run farms. Preference will always go towards no spray and organically grown practices.
Our original Jam born back in 2005. Maui Sunset is a two layer jam featuring our roots in the PNW and the tropical Island of Maui. Locally grown Strawberries paired with Mango to give you a taste of the tropics and the PNW all in one bite.
